Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Quality and Safety
    • Focus on safety, enforce Company’s safety rules and conduct safety training.
    • Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
    • Assure all products are made to spec and meet company’s quality standards.
      • Verify formulas, ingredients, packaging, code dates, etc.
  • Accountability
    • Enforce work rules, company policies, GMP’s, etc.
    • Customer Complaints – investigate and initiate corrective action
    • Assist in establishing and meeting performance goals
      • Yields (waste) and Efficiencies
    • Employee evaluations
    • Recommend and initiate disciplinary action.
    • Monitor attendance and initiate discipline when necessary
  • Hiring and Training
    • Responsible for training of new and current associates.
      • Maintain and build knowledge
    • Assist in interviewing and orientation process.
  • Supervision and Management
    • Supervise and lead production associates.
      • Manage line leads
      • Maintain direction that is consistent with company’s goals
      • Promote teamwork
    • Monitor daily schedules and make adjustments where needed.
    • Participate in planning and operations meetings.
    • Facilitate an atmosphere of professionalism and respect.
  • Assist other Departments
    • Plant trials, Quality Audits, etc.

Working Conditions and Hours:

 

65% of time will be spent monitoring the progress of daily production and making necessary changes to the schedule.

 

20% of time will be spent preparing disciplinary reports, evaluating efficiency and yield reports, monitoring QA audits & inspection reports, etc…

 

15% of time will be spent on projects or on problems/opportunities that present themselves throughout the course of the day.

IT Support Specialist/Network Administrator

JOB SUMMARY:

The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing customer service for the IT Department, supporting system, Hardware and technical issues.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware

·         Respond, resolve, and follow up to technical requests in person, over the phone, or by email

·         Create documentation, step-by-step instructions, and training material for end users

·         Develop subject matter expertise in focused areas as company needs dictate

·         Responsible for all employee account setup and removal

·         Manage local and remote printers and scanners

·         Perform diagnostics, administration, and repairs as directed

·         Assist with software maintenance, auditing, and inventory management

·         Conduct research and test new technologies relevant to helping the user community

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

·         Minimum 2 years’ similar experience in fast paced work environment

JOB SUMMARY:
Provide engineering/technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management to support plant engineering projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design cost effective products.
• Analyzes and evaluates complex problems with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers. Proposes and implement effective sound solutions.
• Creates and maintains technical files and engineering reports.
• Communicates with suppliers as needed for sourcing requirements.
• May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation and/or repair of mechanical products.
• Create technical drawings applying engineering principles
• Evaluate and approve drawings/design changes, and specifications.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
• 3 – 5 years engineering experience in a high speed manufacturing environment.

Director of Purchasing

POSITION: Director of Purchasing
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
FLSA CLASS: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Purchasing will have the overall responsibility for the operational performance of the company’s product sourcing and procurement. Oversees the purchasing, quality, pricing and turnover of items to meet the strategic goals of the company. Successes will be measured through achieving targeted company and management initiatives, and meeting operational and financial benchmarks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Provide strategic direction to procurement team including: prioritizing activities, goal setting, program development and communication
• Recommend and establish strategic sourcing programs specific to customer needs and expectations
• Procurement of ingredients, packaging and plant supplies on behalf of the Company.
• Explore sourcing alternatives and new products
• Maintains proper ordering procedures according to company policy to ensure effective inventory control to maximize sales and turnover, and to minimize over and under stock levels
• Assist maintenance department in the procurement of repair parts and supplies.
• Coordinate with plant management in acquisition of equipment and other assets required to complete capital projects.
• Interface closely with R&D function to qualify new vendors and products with lower costs and / or improved quality.
• Serve as a resource to the Marketing and Sales functions in the new product development process.
• Communicate consistently and effectively with internal and external partners to develop and maintain programs
• Work closely with the team to ensure we are obtaining the right products, at the best value available, at the best cost
• Partner with sales and operations teams to support new product/new customer sales
• Establish program to measure and monitor vendor performance, including compliance with quality standards.
• Provide raw material cost forecasts for the annual budget process.

POSITION GOALS

• Commodity experience with specific knowledge of the dairy markets.
• Experience in futures contracting / hedging.
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of food products, suppliers, retailers, vendors, market pricing factors, and quality indicators
• Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of food industry to forecast product prices and seasonal availability
• Advanced understanding of how to lead and develop teams by building mutual trust, respect and cooperation amongst team members
• Excellent communication, relationship building and negotiating skills
• Strong analytical and quantitative ability
• Demonstrated solid working knowledge of Microsoft Applications, including Word & Excel (including spreadsheets)
• Must be a hands-on person who comfortable with lean, fast-paced working environments.
