Mini Shrimp and Grits

Product Used: Gracious Grits® Cheese Grits


Celebrate southern style with these mini shrimp and grits appetizers. They’re easy to put together and look amazing.


  • 1 package of Gracious Grits® Cheese Grits
  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 large clove of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil or butter for sautéing
  • chives for garnish


  1. Add cooking oil to a large nonstick skillet. Over medium heat, add shrimp and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until shrimp is almost pink, stirring often. Add lemon juice, Cajun seasoning, and salt and pepper to taste. Cook for about 2 more minutes or until shrimp turns pink.
  2. Cook Gracious Grits® Cheese Grits in the microwave according to package directions. Spoon portions into individual glasses (mini martini or champagne glasses, shot glasses, etc.) and top with a few pieces of shrimp each. Garnish with chives.
