They’re easy, crunchy, and bursting with flavor. Spoon already prepared Luisa’s® Five Layer Dip into corn tortillas and fry for delicious taquitos with a warm, gooey filling.
Luisa’s® Five Layer Fiesta Dip
12 corn tortillas
¼ cup oil for frying
extra shredded cheese (if desired)
Heat a large skillet over high heat. Place one tortilla on the hot skillet and allow it to cook for a couple seconds, then carefully turn the tortilla and cook on the other side. This makes the tortilla flexible to wrap. Cover each tortilla with a heavy towel or tin foil to keep warm and pliable or make one taquito at a time, following the steps below.
Lay one tortilla on a plate and spread Luisa’s® Five Layer Fiesta Dip evenly on top, about 1 tbsp. Make sure you get all five layers (beans, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, and cheese) in the spoonful. For extra cheesy taquitos, sprinkle on a little more grated cheese. Roll up tightly, making sure the tortilla doesn’t crack (if it does, heat it up in the pan for a little longer because it isn’t hot enough). Continue with each tortilla.
Heat a medium skillet to medium heat and add the oil for frying. When the oil begins to shimmer add a taquito, seam side down, and cook for 15-30 or until golden brown. Brown on each side and then set on a paper towel lined plate. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
