Cinnamon Chip Ice Cream

This indulgent homemade ice cream uses flan, milk and cream as a base with delicious cinnamon chips sprinkled throughout.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Señor Rico® Caramel Flan (two 8oz flans)
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ – 1/3 cup cinnamon baking chips, chopped
  • sugar or other sweetener (optional, to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, un-mold Señor Rico Caramel Flans. Mix well until broken down and creamy (there will still be small chunks; this is fine).
  2. Add milk, heavy cream, cinnamon, and any additional sugar or sweetener (if using). Mix together well and chill covered mixture in refrigerator or freezer until cold.
  3. Pour ice cream mixture into ice cream maker and add the chopped cinnamon chips. Turn ice cream maker on and churn until done, following manufacturer’s instructions (usually about 20 minutes). Serve immediately for a more soft serve consistency or freeze in a container until ice cream hardens to desired consistency.
